PURPOSE AS A STRATEGIC ADVANTAGE

How Innovation Ecosystems Create Long-Term Growth, Resilience, and Impact Workshop Description What enables some organizations and regions to continually reinvent themselves while others slowly lose momentum?

Drawing from groundbreaking doctoral research on the relationship between purpose and innovation, and her newly published book, Dr. Patty Lindstrom explores how purpose-driven leadership fuels clarity, trust, collaboration, and long-term transformation across organizations, industries, and communities.

In this interactive session at Distillery Labs, participants will explore the emerging role of purpose as a strategic compass for innovation ecosystems — especially in regions navigating technological disruption, workforce transformation, entrepreneurship, and economic change. Through real-world examples spanning global innovation leaders, startups, manufacturing, healthcare, and public-sector organizations, attendees will gain practical insights into what drives sustainable innovation and resilient growth.

Designed for leaders, entrepreneurs, educators, innovators, and community builders, this conversation will also explore the future potential of Peoria as a collaborative hub for purpose-driven innovation.

"Entrepreneurial Mindset: How to Persevere Under Conditions of Extreme Uncertainty"

As entrepreneurs, we choose to live and work in the unknown. But while endless books cover the tools used to de-risk a business—like Lean Startup, Agile, and Design Thinking—they all ignore one critical variable: the mental toll on the founder.

None of these methodologies address what entrepreneurship actually feels like. The paralyzing self-doubt, the emotional highs and lows, and the late-night questions of "Why am I doing this to myself?"

The truth is, no startup methodology works if the entrepreneur operating it doesn't have the right mindset.

To survive and thrive, founders need practical tools to manage the psychological pressure of extreme uncertainty. In this workshop, we'll break down the essential components of Entrepreneurial Mindset. You will walk away with actionable mental frameworks you can use immediately to maintain clarity, protect your energy, and steady yourself through the chaos.

Fail Club: Celebrating Lessons from the Unexpected

On the 3rd Wednesday monthly, Distillery Labs hosts this unique gathering highlighting how every setback paves the way to a greater comeback. We provide an open setting focused on learning from professionals willing to share how their mishaps, unexpected detours, and outright failures have led to valuable new wins.

There is also time for everyone to share their stories or current challenge for which they're seeking guidance. Complimentary beverages are provided by Distillery Labs, and all are encouraged to hear and share first-hand experiences connecting with others who value resilience and innovation.
